The Moreland Forum

The Moreland forum is not a political party or something forged in the image of the major parties.It’s a loose alliance of people – not just Moreland residents -who share a commitment to more open government and genuine representation at the local level.

As we are seeing with manipulation of the planning laws the Brumby government appears to have little real understanding of our community’s needs.How can we substantially increase density without proper consideration of the transport problems this creates and the increased pressure on open space and sporting facilities?

Moreland’s sporting grounds are among the worst in the state and cars are pouring through residential streets in ever increasing numbers. All this is happening in a municipality that has never had an abundance of open space. Those who think a new ALP member in Brunswick will change this would appear to be holding a view at odds with history. It’ll only be more of the same.
